Christopher Zack was born in 1984 in Esslingen, Germany and began violin lessons under his parents’ tutelage at the age of six. In 1998 Christopher was accepted into a program for young talented musicians at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg where he became a student of Professor Conrad von der Goltz. Two years later – at the age of 16 – he switched to the viola. Since then, he has worked with numerous renowned violists including Roland Glassl, Barbara Westphal, and Kim Kashkashian. Christopher is currently enrolled in the Artist Diploma program at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music where he studies with Paul Coletti.

Christopher has won prizes in the solo and chamber music categories of the Jugend Musiziert competition and the Wettbewerb der Musikalischen Akademie Würzburg competition, among numerous others. He is a former member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie youth orchestra and the Meritis Quartett.
